First off, i enjoy character action games (well the one's I've played anyway). As stated above please try not to take any of this seriously. You will enjoy it a lot more.
Right off the bat, I'm gonna generalize this like mad due to my inexperience in this genre, based off of the 2 games I've played the characters are amazing in every cut-scene and then control swaps to me and my feeble dual-shock skills. The game then turns into an episode of the F word and i end up with friendly character number 1 shouting at me for failing to fry him up some zandatsu'd generic bad guys (or rocket launcher heroes as they are affectionately known in Metal Gear Rising).
Earlier today (and for the past 3 days...) I've been playing DMC3. In one cut-scene Dante gets stabbed multiple times through the chest, in another cut-scene he gets shot in the face twice. he takes these injuries like a trooper and gets straight back up and makes a witty comeback. Then 2 minutes later i get utterly destroyed by generic demon number 4 who might as well have had 20 shots of vodka the way he's flailing his scythe around. Dante then proceeds to fall to the ground and I get presented with the "You suck, might as well try easy mode you scrub". I suppose it could be worse, I could have Doktor saying that "this can't be happening" for the millionth time after Raiden get's knocked out of the sky by one of Desperado's unlimited rockets.
And on that bombshell, I'm now going to change my name to Dante so everyone knows that I get "spinning scythed" to death by drunken demons and get beaten up by women.
